A Las Vegas woman died late Monday when she was hit by an SUV while crossing Durango Drive outside a crosswalk, according to Metro Police.

The woman, 49, was crossing the street north of Paddle Wheel Way about 10:20 p.m. when she was hit by a southbound Ford Expedition driven by a 22-year-old Las Vegas man, police said.

The woman, whose name was not released pending notification of her family, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation, police said.

Police closed traffic on Durango Drive as they investigated the incident, Metro Lt. Dave Valenta said.

It was the 46th traffic death investigated by Metro this year.
