DETROIT (AP) — Longtime Congressman John Conyers is being honored in Detroit for donating his personal papers to the Damon J. Keith Collection of African-American Legal History.

Conyers said during Friday's invitation-only program at Wayne State University's Law School that he's humbled by the honor of having his papers accepted into collection.

The Keith Collection is a repository detailing the contributions and achievements of black lawyers, judges and political figures.

Conyers has served continuously in Congress since 1965. He is seeking re-election this year to his 26th term.
