Metro searching for suspect in Saturday morning stabbing

Updated Sunday, July 6, 2014 | 3:40 p.m.

Metro Police are searching for a person who they say stabbed a man to death in a fight in the northwest valley early Saturday morning.

A man was driving eastbound on Racel Street sometime before 12:30 a.m. when he came across another man and a vehicle on the road near the Forest Fire intersection, a Metro investigation found. The victim — later identified by the Clark County Coroner as 28-year-old Christopher Dodge — got out of his car and a verbal fight occurred between the two. The fight escalated into a physical one, and Dodge was apparently stabbed and left by the side of the road. The suspect got back into the car — a white sedan driven by a black female believed to be in her 20s — and fled, according to Metro.

Metro officers arrived on the scene at around 12:33 a.m. and met up with medical personnel, who had already discovered Dodge dead with apparent stab wounds.

According to Metro, the suspect is described as a light-skinned black male in his 20s, wearing a multi-colored shirt and blue jeans at the time of the incident. Police have not identified the suspect and are still investigating.

Metro is urging anyone with information about the crime to contact homicide investigators at 702-828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
