Power outage hits nearly 800 customers, closes two state offices

Nearly 800 NV Energy customers lost power late this morning due to construction near Warm Springs Road and the 215 Beltway, the power company said.

The outage was reported to the utility at 9:48 a.m., according to NV Energy's outage website. As of 12:15 p.m., there were still 766 customers without power.

Shortly before noon, the state Department of Business and Industry announced the Division and Mortgage Lending Division offices would be closed for the remainder of the day because of the outage.

Customers needing to contact the closed departments can reach the Carson City offices of the Housing Division at 775-687-2040 or the Mortgage Lending Divison at 775-684-7060.

The offices anticipate opening for normal operating hours tomorrow.
