NEW YORK — Norwegian Cruise Line's just-launched ship Norwegian Getaway is serving as a floating hotel for Super Bowl weekend events sponsored by the beer brand Bud Light.
Renamed the Bud Light Hotel, the ship is docked at Pier 88 in Manhattan on the Hudson. Its 18 decks house 4,000 guests in 1,900 staterooms. Those aboard are mostly connected to Bud Light's retailers, partners and VIP guests.
Concerts on board include performances by the Foo Fighters and Zac Brown Band.
Bud Light Hotel has also taken over the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, a retired military ship permanently docked in the adjacent pier.
For past Super Bowls, Bud Light rented out properties in the game's host city. This is the first time it's used a ship for its sports- and music-themed parties.
