Water flooded two southbound lanes of Decatur Boulevard at Washington Avenue today after a Las Vegas contractor struck an abandoned water line with a drill.
The flooded lanes were closed.
Las Vegas Valley Water District crews responded about 3 a.m. to reports of the leak and are working to fix it. They are expected to finish about noon, Water District spokesman Bronson Mock said.
Crews are also working to determine why the abandoned line had water in it, Mock said. No customers have been affected by the leak.
