Vigil planned for woman stabbed to death

There will be a vigil from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. today for Daisy Dahan, who, according to Metro Police, was brutally stabbed to death a week ago by her husband, Richard Dahan, after asking for a divorce.

The vigil will be held at Life Care Center, 6151 Vegas Drive. Donations are being accepted to pay for funeral expenses and to send Dahan’s remains to the Philippines, her home country.

The bank account set up to receive donations is Wells Fargo account 8686883912.

There also will be a car wash and bake sale fundraiser at the Life Care Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

For more information on the vigil and fundraiser call Safe Faith United at 685-1500.

Dahan died Jan. 10 at the apartment she shared with her husband in Camden Vintage Apartments, 6500 Vegas Drive. Richard Dahan confessed to the crime, police said.

According to a police report, Richard Dahan attacked his wife after she raised the issue of getting a divorce, something she had talked about before. He stabbed her with two different knives and hit her in the head with a meat cleaver, police said.

Richard Dahan then showered, drove to Metro’s Northwest Area Command building at 9850 W. Cheyenne Ave., and turned himself in, police said.
