Less than a day after a man was gunned down inside his northeast Las Vegas home, Metro Police have arrested a suspect in the case.

The victim was home in the 1600 block of White Skies Court, near Nellis Boulevard and Owens Avenue, when someone knocked on his front door about 6 a.m., Metro Police said. As he approached the door, several bullets pierced the front door and struck him twice.

Relatives inside the house called 911 and paramedics rushed the victim to University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators later identified the gunman as Raul Gonzales, 33. He was found shortly after 4 a.m. on Wednesday in a hotel parking lot in the 3600 block of Boulder Highway, where he was arrested without incident.

Gonzales was taken to the Clark County Detention Center on charges of murder and discharging a gun at or into an occupied building.
