More than 1 million Americans lost their unemployment benefits three days after Christmas. The Senate has voted to begin a debate. The House flatly refuses to vote on it at all.
What happened to America’s song, “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free”? Not anymore.
Extending unemployment should not be a partisan issue. It’s a human issue.
