Henderson Police say 3 businesses sold alcohol to minors during checks

Three Henderson businesses sold alcohol to minors during a random compliance check this weekend, police said.

Henderson Police officers and underage volunteers checked 64 convenience stores, grocery stores and liquor stores Saturday. The three businesses that police said sold alcohol to the minors were:

• 7-Eleven at 1400 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway.

• Smith’s at 55 S. Valle Verde Drive.

• Walgreens at 101 E. Lake Mead Parkway.

The clerks accused of selling the alcohol received citations and face a $1,000 fine and a maximum of six months in jail. It was the first time the businesses failed an alcohol compliance check, police said.

Four other businesses that previously failed compliance checks passed this time, officials said.
