Metro Police have arrested a man accused of exposing himself to teenagers who were on their way to a school function in November.

Officers arrested Jayson David Lewis, 28, on this week, after they spotted his vehicle in the area of Nellis and Vegas Valley boulevards. Lewis was transported to the Clark County Detention Center, where he was booked on five counts of open and gross lewdness and one count of sexually motivated coercion, police said.

The alleged incidents occurred about 5:30 a.m. Nov. 16 near Charleston Boulevard and Tree Line Drive, which is just north of Las Vegas High School.

The teen victims were walking to the school when the suspect, who was driving a white sedan, approached them, offered them a ride and then exposed his genital area, police said. The victims were able to safely flee the area.

When officers located the suspect vehicle Tuesday, Lewis — who matched suspect descriptions — was in the passenger seat, police said. The female driver was not arrested.

Lewis remains in custody without bail, according to court and jail records. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 17.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact Metro’s sexual assault section at 702-828-3421. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or visit www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
