DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — The United Arab Emirates' state news agency says two crew members have been killed in the crash of a military training aircraft.
Official news agency WAM said Thursday that the crash happened during a routine training mission and killed the pilot and co-pilot.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash. No details were given on the type of aircraft involved.
The United Arab Emirates is a Western-allied federation of seven Gulf sheikdoms that includes Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Its armed forces include American-made F-16 and French-built Mirage fighters, Apache helicopters and various types of training aircraft.
