ROME (AP) — Italian Premier Matteo Renzi has won a crucial confidence vote on his brand new government after arguing he can get the country back to work after years of an ailing economy.

The Senate voted 169-139 early Tuesday to confirm Renzi's three-day old government, a broad coalition ranging from his center-left Democrats to center-right forces formerly loyal to ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi.
