PHOENIX (AP) — A structure fire is sending a tall plume of smoke over west-central Phoenix and slowing traffic on nearby interstate highways in the area.
The Phoenix Fire Department has dispatched more than 50 engines and other units to the blaze which Assistant Chief Chris Ketterer says involves a structure.
The fire is near the junction of Interstates 10 and 17, and television news footage shows a ramp from westbound I-10 to northbound I-17 being blocked.
The Arizona Department of Transportation has advised motorists to expect slow traffic on I-10 in the area west of downtown.
Ketterer says he is not aware of any injures from the fire.
