NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Deliberations in the corruption case against former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin have been delayed for a day.
The court said the delay was caused because of a juror's problem. Details were not released, and there was no indication whether the juror would be replaced with an alternate.
Deliberations are to resume at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
The jury broke for the evening Monday after hearing closing arguments in the morning and deliberating for more than three hours in the afternoon.
Nagin is charged in a 21-count indictment accusing him of fraud, bribery, money laundering, conspiracy and filing false tax returns.
