Scene of accident
A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries today after being hit by a minivan on Nellis Boulevard, authorities said.
Metro Police responded about 2:30 p.m. to reports of the minivan striking a person on Nellis Boulevard near Las Vegas Boulevard. The pedestrian was transported to University Medical Center Trauma, Metro spokesman Bill Cassell.
Police could not confirm whether the pedestrian was in a crosswalk. Southbound lanes on Nellis Boulevard at Las Vegas Boulevard are closed to traffic, Cassell said.
Metro continues to investigate the wreck.
