Metro Police shoot, kill robbery suspect in Laughlin

Officer-involved shooting

Metro Police fatally shot a robbery suspect late Friday in Laughlin.

Officer Jose Hernandez said police received a 911 call just before 11 p.m. from someone who reported that a gunman had robbed a business in the 3600 block of Needles Highway. When police arrived, they found someone outside the business who fit the description the 911 caller provided and reportedly issued commands to the man, “at which time he produced a handgun,” Hernandez said.

Officers fired at the suspect, who fell to the ground. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the location.

No other details were available as of Saturday afternoon.

Laughlin is about 100 miles south of Las Vegas.
