letter to the editor:

Better work environments

Even popular jobs can be in stressful work environments. Managers can need guidance, sociologists to help solve problems or psychologists to survey the employees for a better work environment.

I see retail get disrespected as if it doesn’t meet the high demands of some people in the job market.

I work for an international casino in Las Vegas, but it feels like I work for a fast-food joint with young employees who need direction.

Everyone is afraid to lose their job, so they are scared to do anything out of the ordinary like promote other properties or restaurants, or demonstrate products (which appears to be horseplay).

In addition, language and ethics barriers need to be broken so employees can understand one another.

An attention to detail and being approachable also are important attributes in a retail hospitality environment.
