Coroner IDs man, 81, who crashed into gravel pit

A man who died Monday morning when the SUV he was driving rolled into a northwest valley gravel pit has been identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office as Arthur A. Brancatelli, 81, of Las Vegas.

Brancatelli died from blunt force injuries to the head and neck in the crash on West Lone Mountain Road, west of the 215 Beltway, the Coroner’s Office said.

Brancatelli was driving a 1999 Honda CRV east on Lone Mountain when it hit a guard rail, crossed the road and went over a dirt berm into the gravel pit, Metro Police said in a statement.

Brancatelli was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
