Man dead in Saturday wreck
A Las Vegas man killed Saturday when the car he was driving rear-ended a parked van in the south valley has been identified as 41-year-old Terry William Jones.
Jones died of blunt-force injury in the accident on East Richmar Avenue near East Silverado Ranch Boulevard and Bermuda Road, the Clark County Coroner's Office said.
He was driving a 2003 Cadillac DeVille east on Richmar about 1:10 a.m. and rear-ended a 2012 Nissan van, which was then pushed onto a sidewalk and struck a light pole, Metro Police said in a news release.
Jones was transported to St. Rose Dominican Hospital — Siena Campus, where he was pronounced dead.
He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, police said.
This was the 86th traffic-related fatality reported in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
