Driver, motocyclist killed in central valley accident identified

Car vs. motorcycle crash

A motorcyclist and a driver killed in a central valley crash Saturday afternoon have been identified by the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Michael Don Tavis Savery and Eberado Jaramillo-Pedrasa, both 27 years old, died of blunt-force injuries in the accident about 12:40 p.m. on South Valley View Boulevard near West Desert Inn Road, the Coroner's Office said.

A 2002 Nissan Altima was making a left turn from West Capella Avenue onto southbound Valley View when it was struck by a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle heading north, Metro Police said in a news release.

No information was available on which driver was operating which vehicle or who was at fault in the crash.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Two passengers in the Altima, a 1-year-old boy and a 30-year-old woman, were transported to University Medical Center. The child suffered moderate injuries, and the woman had minor injuries, police said.

Valley View was shut down in both directions from Sirius Avenue to Desert Inn after the crash.

These were the 87th and 88th traffic-related deaths reported in Metro's jurisdiction this year, police said.
