Metro Police have arrested a man in a Saturday morning shooting in the north valley that left one person dead.

Kolby Edwards, 29, was arrested Sunday on a count of murder, Clark County Detention Center records show.

Detectives were searching for Edwards after Cordan Jamal Swift of Las Vegas was shot to death about 3:20 a.m. at the Silver Palms Apartments, 1951 North Jones Blvd., near Lake Mead Boulevard.

Swift, whose age was unavailable, died of multiple gunshot wounds in what has been ruled a homicide, the Clark County Coroner’s Office said.

Swift was discovered with gunshot wounds at the scene and was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police said they believe Swift had been involved in an argument with Edwards before he was shot.
