One person is dead after a shooting in the east valley, Metro Police said.
A caller reported one person shot about 5 p.m. in the 2800 block of Sunrise Avenue, near Eastern Avenue and Charleston Boulevard, Officer Jesse Roybal said.
That person died following the shooting, he said.
One subject is being detained by police but it is unclear whether that person is the suspect officials are looking for, Roybal said.
Homicide detectives are on scene.
