A 26-year-old Las Vegas resident has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left one man injured Monday afternoon in Henderson, police said.

Mark Anthony Ames was taken into custody Tuesday on charges of attempted murder, attempted robbery, burglary with a gun and possession of a gun by a convicted felon, according to a Henderson Police media release.

Police believe Ames is one of three men involved in a shooting and possible robbery attempt at an apartment complex on Coronado Center Drive near Eastern Avenue.

An investigation indicated Kendall James Smith, 28, was approached by the men in his apartment when he was shot in the abdomen with a handgun, police said.

Smith was discovered lying outside the apartment and was transported to Sunrise Hospital's Trauma Center in stable condition, police said.

Officials are still looking for the other two suspects.
