Coroner IDs inmate found dead in Henderson jail cell

An inmate who city officials said committed suicide Tuesday at the Henderson Detention Center has been identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office as Tyrone Pye, 42, of Las Vegas.

Pye was found unresponsive on the floor of his cell Tuesday afternoon, city spokeswoman Kathleen Richards said.

Jail officials and paramedics could not revive Pye and found a suicide note in his cell, Richards said.

The Coroner’s Office has not released the cause and manner of death.
