Dense fog closes Red Rock scenic drive

Dense fog has closed the scenic route through Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, and the National Weather Service is advising drivers around the Spring Mountains to be careful.

The foggy conditions, brought on by moist air from rainfall in Southern Nevada on Tuesday, have left visibility at below a quarter mile in those higher elevations.

Fog is expected to dissipate by late Thursday morning followed by cloud cover in the afternoon.

Until then, rain-lovers can celebrate! More showers are expected this evening in the Las Vegas Valley, totaling up to 0.25 inches, according to the Weather Service.
