Coroner IDs man who drowned after jumping from boat

A California man who died after he jumped from a boat into Lake Mohave without a life jacket earlier this month has been identified as Paul Nguyen, the Clark County Coroner’s Office said today.

Nguyen, 31, of Alhambra, Calif., was on a boat about noon Aug. 16 near Cottonwood Cove when he jumped into the lake, witnesses told officials.

The coroner ruled his death an accidental drowning.

Nguyen was seen struggling and was later reported missing, prompting a search by Park rangers, Nevada Department of Wildlife officials and employees from a local marina, officials said.

His body was found Sunday floating near where he was reported missing.
