A woman was arrested Wednesday in the single-car crash on Interstate 15 in early July that killed a 9-year-old girl.

Wendy Carrion, 22, was driving her 2002 Ford Explorer on northbound I-15 near downtown July 2 when she failed to maintain her travel lane, overcorrected and ended up overturning her vehicle, said Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Chelsea Webster.

Carrion faces charges including felony involuntary manslaughter, felony child endangerment and lack of a valid driver's license.

Three of six child passengers were ejected from the car. One of the children, Las Vegas resident Gabriela Casias, was transported to University Medical Center and pronounced dead.

Carrion, mother to four of the child passengers and aunt to two, was also booked on charges including child restraint and seatbelt violations and failing to maintain her travel lane.
