Interstate 15 North was closed near the Apex Industrial Park after a tractor-trailer hauling sheet metal caught fire, the Nevada Highway Patrol reported.
The freeway was expected to remain closed until about 1:15 to 1:45 p.m., Trooper Loy Hixson said.
The fire was reported shortly after noon, about three miles north of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire had not been determined, Hixson said.
