51s handle Round Rock, 6-5

Cory Vaughn’s three-run home run today in the sixth inning helped the Las Vegas 51s beat Round Rock, 6-5.

Josh Satin and Bobby Abreu each had two hits for Las Vegas, and Chase Bradford struckout two batters in 1 and 1/3 innings to record the save.

Round Rock scored five runs in the eighth inning, but it wasn’t enough to erase the 6-0 cushion the 51s built.

Las Vegas clinched its second straight playoff appearance Thursday. Instead of playing out the remainder of the schedule, the 51s have continued their solid play by winning their last three games.

The series with Round Rock continues at 7:05 p.m. Monday-Wednesday. Wednesday is the final home game of the regular season.
