A man who pleaded guilty to driving under the influence in a crash that killed two people in Las Vegas last fall has been sentenced to prison.
Hans Bludau was ordered Tuesday to 8 to 20 years behind bars. He'll receive credit for nearly a year of jail time he has already served.
Police say Bludau had been drinking before he swerved his car into a truck early the morning of Oct. 9, 2013. The impact caused the truck to flip and hit a palm tree, and the two occupants were killed.
They were identified as 21-year-old Jeanina Esser and 31-year-old Erick Soto-Soto.
Police say Bludau fled the scene afterward.
Bludau had been ordered to complete post-DUI classes and pay a fine after a DUI arrest the year earlier.
