Metro police have identified a person of interest in the Saturday morning shooting of a man in the northwest part of the valley.

Stacey Thomas, 27, is sought in connection with a man who was found dead on the ground of a housing complex in the 6200 block of Ilanos Lane, near West Lake Mead and North Jones boulevards, police said. Being identified as a person of interest is not the same as being identified as a suspect.

At 3:41 a.m., police arrived at the residence to find a man who had suffered from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.

An investigation has revealed that the man was a passenger in a car with an unknown driver.

He was later seen falling out of the passenger's side of the car, police said.

A woman then came out of the driver's side door and walked over to the victim before driving away, police said.

Police are looking for a red, four door Hyundai Accent with the Nevada license plate number 953LHT.

Thomas is described as a black woman who is 5'8", weighs 285 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

The Clark County coroner's office will reveal the victim's identity and cause of death once family has been notified.

This is Metro's 82nd homicide so far this year.
