A 21-year-old woman accused of shooting a man to death in a northeast valley apartment last week had reportedly been beaten and robbed by the shooting victim the night before, according to a Metro Police report.

Anishya Douglas was arrested Aug. 6 in Ogden, Utah, and has been charged in Clark County with murder and burglary.

Metro officers responded to the apartment about 3:20 p.m. after a distraught 9-year-old girl called 911, police said. Several children had been watching television in the apartment at the time of the shooting, police said.

According to the police report, the victim, Christopher Jones, 24, was with several other people about 3 p.m. drinking beer in a bedroom when there was a knock at the door. A witness inside the apartment said it was Douglas.

Jones told a witness that he had gambled with Douglas the night before and caught her cheating, the report said. He told the witness he beaten and choked Douglas and took $80 out of her pocket, police said.

According to the report, Douglas took a black handgun from her front pocket and shot Jones three times in the back. While he was on the floor, Douglas shot him at least three more times, before fleeing, police said.

Douglas, who has a tattoo of the word “BOSS” on her throat, was reported to be a member of the 004 Hoodsmen gang, police said. Jones was known to have been a member of the Piru gang, police said.

Douglas is in Utah awaiting extradition.
