Josh Satin’s RBI double in the ninth inning today scored Cesar Puello with the winning run in the Las Vegas 51s’ 6-5 victory against the host Iowa Cubs.
Cory Vaughn went 2 for 5 with a home run and triple for the 51s, adding two runs scored and two RBIs. Satin had three hits and two RBIs.
Iowa slugger Kris Byrant, a Bonanza High product and one of baseball’s top prospects, connected on his 17th Triple-A home run in the eighth inning. It was hit off the 51s' Chase Bradford, a Silverado High grad.
The series continues Wednesday.
