Las Vegas man to speak out about being victim of domestic violence

A political activist has decided to speak out about domestic violence from the male perspective after being threatened while attending a state senator’s birthday party, according to a press release from Safe Faith United, a nonprofit group that helps abuse victims.

Cornell McCrary, 58, will conduct a press conference on Monday at Safe Faith United at 1850 E. Sahara Ave. to discuss what he claims are years of abuse.

According to McCrary, a woman was arrested after she showed up to a party for Sen. Ruben Kihuen, D-Las Vegas, and began threatening McCrary, the release said.

Jail records show a 33-year-old was arrested on Wednesday for battery constituting domestic violence and booked into the Las Vegas City Jail.

McCrary has kept silent about the abuse he’s endured since 2011 because of his role in the political community, the release said.
