James Kennedy’s visit today to the Stratosphere Tower was more than one in a million. Try one in 40 million.

Kennedy, a Birmingham, England, resident visiting Las Vegas for the first time, was singled out this morning as the 40 millionth visitor to the Stratosphere Tower, which opened April 30, 1996.

An entourage of Stratosphere employees led by Paul Hobson, vice president and general manager, greeted Kennedy at the 1,149-foot-tall tower – the tallest building west of the Mississippi.

After informing him of the milestone, Hobson presented Kennedy with prize package worth an estimated $2,500.

Said Kennedy, “I am shocked.”
