Baby, 2 adults suffer smoke inhalation in apartment fire

A baby and two adults were taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation after an apartment caught fire Wednesday night, officials said.

Firefighters from Clark County, North Las Vegas and Las Vegas responded about 11:15 p.m. to reports of an apartment on fire at Adobe Point Apartments, 3550 E. Lake Mead Blvd.

When they arrived, firefighters found smoke and flames extending from the second-floor unit to the third floor of the building, Clark County Fire Department spokesman Jon Klassen said.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze in about 20 minutes but not before it caused about $75,000 damage.
