Eric Campbell went 3 for 5 with two runs scored and Allan Dykstra belted a home run today for the Las Vegas 51s in a 6-0 victory against the host Reno Aces.
Las Vegas won for the sixth straight game in continuing its hot play to open the season. At 12-3 overall, the 51s have the best record in the 16-team Pacific Coast League.
The initial three hitters in the Las Vegas batting order combined for nine hits in a 14-hit attack, including Wilmer Flores going 2 for 5 with three RBIs. Flores had a two-run double to highlight a five-run fourth inning and Dykstra followed with a solo home run.
Four Las Vegas pitchers combined on a five-hit shutout. Starter Dana Eveland went five innings to earn the win.
The series continues Friday in Reno. Las Vegas returns to Cashman Field at 7:05 p.m. Saturday for a series against El Paso, the Triple-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres.
