State’s employment director resigning

CARSON CITY – Frank R. Woodbeck, director of the state Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation since 2011, has resigned to take a post in the Nevada System of Higher Education.

Gov. Brian Sandoval said Thursday that Woodbeck had been appointed executive director of the Nevada College Collaborative. “His position will allow him to continue his efforts to help build a skilled workforce for all Nevada,” Sandoval said.

Before taking the state job, which paid $127,121 annually, Woodbeck was director of Las Vegas Operations and Workforce Initiatives with the Commission on Economic Development.

The governor said an interim director would be named shortly.
