AGOGO allows users to browse by radio station or use one of the app’s curated channels that stream clips from various radio stations based on dozens of topics that range from sports to arts to technology to news.

Editor’s note: There are more than 1 million apps available for download from Apple's App Store and a similar number of Android apps available on Google Play. Staff writer Brian Nordli weighs in on one of the applications he deems worthy of being the Sun’s App of the Week.

Phone App: AGOGO

Where can you find it: Apple’s App Store. Coming to Google Play for Androids.

Cost: Free

What is it: AGOGO is an app designed to spice up the dull morning commute.

Rather than force drivers to fiddle with the radio knobs, dodging commercials and hoping to find the right station, AGOGO aggregates everything needed on a morning commute into one app.

AGOGO allows users to browse by radio station or use one of the app’s curated channels that stream clips from various radio stations based on dozens of topics that range from sports to arts to technology to news. Users can also select a favorite radio show and then search for similar shows online. Or, if users are tired of the radio, they can press the music button to connect to their music library.

Meanwhile, users can input their commute routes to receive customized travel updates just as they would on the radio.

AGOGO offers plenty of opportunities to customize and enhance the morning drive. Just don’t forget to pay attention to the road.
