Peterson Elementary School
Reports of shots being fired near Peterson Elementary School caused it to go on lockdown for nearly an hour today.
Metro Police responded about 9:15 a.m. to calls about gunshots being fired near Cambridge Street and Twain Avenue. Peterson, 3650 S. Cambridge St., went on lockdown from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., while police searched the area for the source of the gunshots.
There were no reported victims in alleged shooting, Officer Larry Hadfield said. Police are investigating the incident.
