Accident
A man was critically injured in a crash this afternoon near the Wynn Golf Club.
Metro Police said the man was driving an Acura RSX on Desert Inn Road near Channel 8 Drive — just south of the news station’s studios — when he rear-ended a Mercedes-Benz on the road. The impact sent the both vehicles crashing into a lamp post.
The driver of the Mercedes-Benz, a 66-year-old woman, was rushed to Sunrise Hospital to be treated for injuries described as moderate. The driver of the Acura, 33, was rushed to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
