Letter to the editor:

Don’t buy into the left’s propaganda

Another letter from the far left regarding gun control. Jerry Zodin’s letter printed Saturday makes the argument that many more people were killed by guns than in Benghazi every day. That may be true, but is the left immune from such arguments?

Nope. For years, the left has been screaming to increase mileage standards for vehicles. This demand for more fuel-efficient vehicles has one very nasty consequence — a massive increase in fatalities and more severe injuries due to lighter vehicles. In fact, the National Transportation Safety Board has estimated that hundreds of thousands of Americans have been killed needlessly due to these increased standards in the past three decades. All this to quench the thirst of environmentalists — the liberal equivalent to the National Rifle Association.

I detest guns, but I realize that part of our heritage and Constitution is the right to bear arms. Hypocrisy when it comes to picking and choosing issues is something I cannot stomach. It is just this armchair, emotional nonsense that exposes the left for exactly what it is — duplicitous and deceptive purveyors of propaganda.
