Las Vegas Sun

LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Las Vegas needs both points of view

For a healthy democracy to survive, citizens need to hear all points of view to be able to arrive at informed decisions.

This battle between the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Las Vegas Sun is alarming because if the Sun is dropped, we will be left with only one newspaper voice. It would be different if the R-J offered an impartial point of view and just reported the news, but it doesn’t — and neither does the Sun. However, as a whole, you pretty much get input from all.

Have the Sun haters and editorial staff of the R-J thought about the consequences of their actions if they succeed?

The day the Sun goes away, I’ll cancel my subscription immediately. I’ll bet at least half your readership will too. Can the R-J survive that? I think not.

This is a beyond ridiculous situation for a major American city to be in, one point of view or no point of view.
