Las Vegas’ bowl game has a new title sponsor for at least the next three years. The game will be known as the Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl, ESPN Regional Television announced today.

“Today marks a wonderful new alignment between our bowl, our city and Royal Purple,” Dan Hanneke, Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl Executive Director, said in a statement. "Our event will only continue to grow with the addition of a great title sponsor and we can’t wait for the 22nd edition of the game, which is now just three months away.”

This year’s game, which pits the top choice from the Mountain West against the fifth choice from the Pac-12, will kick off at 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 21 at Sam Boyd Stadium. The game will be televised nationally on ABC.

Earlier this summer, Hanneke announced the bowl had extended its partnership with the Pac-12 for the next six years. He said today at a kickoff luncheon that they’re working on doing the same with the Mountain West.

Royal Purple is a company based out of Porter, Texas, that produces high performance lubricants for consumer and industrial application.

“Royal Purple has always been a supporter of collegiate athletics, and we are excited to be joining the tradition of the Las Vegas Bowl,” Royal Purple President Bryan Yourdon said in a statement.

Last year’s game saw No. 15 Boise State hold off Washington 28-26. It earned the third highest TV rating in the game’s history and drew 33,217 fans, the eighth consecutive year the game has drawn an announced crowd of at least 32,000.

Tickets are available at lvbowl.com or by calling 702-732-3912. Prices start at $25.
