Doctor indicted in sexual assault of elderly patient

A doctor was indicted today on a charge of sexually assaulting a 68-year-old female patient.

Mane Shah faces one count each of sexual assault and attempted sexual assault and two counts of open or gross lewdness.

Police arrested Mane Shah in January. Authorities had been investigating sexual abuse allegations against Shah since Nov. 2, 2012.

Shah allegedly assaulted the Las Vegas woman during a physical exam in her room at North Vista Hospital, according to police reports.

Shah was out of custody on $25,000 bail.

An arraignment was set for Oct. 8 in front of Clark County District Judge Jerome Tao.
