A Las Vegas photographer accused of producing child pornography failed to show for a court hearing this week, prompting the judge to issue a bench warrant for his arrest.

A preliminary hearing for William Clyde Thompson, who had been on house arrest, was scheduled for Wednesday in Las Vegas Justice Court. Justice of the Peace Janiece Marshall ordered a bench warrant without bail when Thompson did not appear, according to court records.

A criminal complaint filed last year charges Thompson, 53, with seven counts of use of a minor in producing pornography and three counts of lewdness with a child under the age of 14.

Metro Police arrested Thompson on Nov. 25, 2012, after the department’s sexual assault section investigated allegations that he took photos and videos of a male juvenile in “sexually explicit situations.”

Thompson operated Storybook Studios, located in the 3300 block of West Craig Road, where he allegedly instructed a child model to undress and perform lewd behavior while Thompson continued photographing, according to the arrest report.

The victim told detectives Thompson asked him not to tell anyone about those photos, the arrest report states.

Detectives seized multiple electronic devices, including computers, while searching Thompson’s residence, according to the arrest report. Thompson was taken into custody at the same time.

Authorities believe Thompson removed his ankle-bracelet monitor and fled his residence.

Police suspect Thompson might be linked to other cases outside the United States. The case is currently under review for federal prosecution.

Anyone with information about Thompson’s whereabouts is asked to contact Metro’s sexual assault section at 702-828-3421. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers,702-385-5555.
