Valley ‘not drying out at all,’ as likelihood of rain continues today

The Las Vegas Valley will likely continue getting showers and thunderstorms today, forecasters said.

Heavy moisture will linger over southern portions of Nevada along with a 30 to 40 percent chance of rain.

"It's not drying out at all," said Jim Harrison with the National Weather Service. "We've still got this moisture."

Humidity levels peaked at 49 percent Tuesday night and dipped as low as 34 percent during the day. Today's levels will likely be about the same, Harrison said.

Heavy rains could create a potential for flash flooding, though no watches or advisories had been issued as of late Tuesday.
