Metro Police are searching for two men suspected in a shooting Tuesday night that left one person dead and another in critical condition.

Metro Police responded to reports of a shooting at about 10:20 p.m. in the 500 block of East Sahara Avenue near Lynwood Street.

A preliminary investigation indicates multiple people were in an alley behind an apartment complex when a verbal argument broke out and escalated.

The confrontation then turned physical, and one suspect brandished a handgun and shot the victims as they attempted to flee, police said.

Officers arrived to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound in a convenience store parking lot. He was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center’s trauma unit with injuries not believed to be life-threatening, police said.

Officers located a second gunshot victim inside an apartment in the 2500 block of Lynwood Avenue. That man later died from his injuries at the hospital, police said.

Police described the suspects as two Hispanic men who have not yet been identified.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Metro’s homicide section at 702-828-3521. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or visit www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
