Man who was shot, killed after argument is identified

Fatal shooting

A man who was fatally shot Thursday after a verbal dispute has been identified.

Brandon Kuhn, 32, was discovered about 11:30 p.m. as officers responded to a 911 call from a man and woman requesting emergency assistance. The call disconnected, and emergency dispatchers attempted to call the person back but got no answer.

As a result of the call, Metro Police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1400 block of Amitola Avenue, near the 215 Beltway and Wigwam Avenue, where they found a man, a woman and two children unharmed. After searching the residence, they found Kuhn on the floor of the master bedroom.

Metro Police arrested Troy Martinez, 32, who is charged with murder with a deadly weapon and child endangerment.

The victim was visiting Martinez at his home when an altercation started, according to Metro Police. Investigators believe Martinez retrieved a gun he had in the house and shot Kuhn during the dispute.

Martinez is being held without bail at the Clark County Detention Center.
